Indian shooter Arjun Babuta has missed out on winning a medal in the men's 10 meter air rifle event of Paris Olympics-2024.
Arjun Babuta was in the medal race till the last shot. But with 209.8 points, he finished fourth in the event.
Arjun Babuta could have become the second Indian shooter to win an Olympic medal in this event, but this could not happen.
Abhinav Bindra had won the gold medal for India in the 10 meter air rifle event in the 2008 Olympic Games.
India opened its account in Paris Olympics on Sunday. Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal for India in the 10 meter air pistol event.
Ramita Jindal out of medal race
Indian player Ramita Jindal missed out on winning a medal in Paris Olympics. She remained seventh with 145.3 points. Ramita was playing in the 10 meter air rifle games in the Olympics.
Ramita Jindal was considered a medal contender from the beginning. But she fell behind after scoring 9.7 points in the last stage.
Ramita started with a 10.2 shot, which put her in joint fifth place. Before she was eliminated, she was 0.2 points ahead. Later she shot 10.2 and slipped to joint sixth place.
Ramita then scored 10.5 in the shootout, but Ramita's opponent Muller scored 10.8 to keep herself in the competition. This ended her journey here and she was out of the medal race.
