Heavy rainfall impacted several districts in Himachal Pradesh late Sunday night, leading to multiple landslides. Tragically, one person lost their life due to a mountain collapse on the Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway-5, and three others sustained injuries.
Currently, over 80 roads across the state remain closed due to landslides. Additionally, a cloudburst in Kinnaur district has resulted in significant rainfall, causing water to enter homes in the area.
In Uttar Pradesh, Lalitpur is experiencing flood-like conditions as a result of the rains. Eight gates of the Rajghat Dam and 20 gates of the Matatila Dam have been opened, causing the Betwa River to swell. An alert has been issued for villages located along the riverbanks.
7% more rainfall in MP than usual
adhya Pradesh is also facing heavy rainfall, with the state recording 7% more precipitation than usual. The Narmada River is rising, prompting the release of water from several dams, including Kolar, Bargi, and Satpura.
Yellow alert for rain in Chhattisgarh
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for rain in Chhattisgarh for the next three days. There may be good rain in all the districts of the state from 30 July to 1 August. There may be thundershowers at many places today. A 6-month-old girl died when a house collapsed in Kiskorodo village due to heavy rain in Kanker on Sunday evening.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for 15 states on Monday, July 29.
Very heavy rain (2 states): Gujarat, Rajasthan.
Heavy rain (13 states, 4 union territories): Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar.
