Indore News: Residents of Nyay Nagar, a locality nestled between MR 9 and MR 10 in Indore, are grappling with a recent administrative order demanding them to vacate their homes. This directive has stirred considerable anxiety and opposition among the local populace, who are now seeking justice to prevent the demolition of their houses.
In a bid to preserve their residences, the people of Nyay Nagar are voicing their concerns. They argue that when they initially constructed their homes, there were no objections or interruptions from any authorities. Now, however, they are faced with a sudden mandate to vacate. This development has left them questioning their future and the fate of their families. The administration has reportedly issued eviction notices to approximately 200 houses in the area, affecting nearly 2,000 residents.
The administration has ordered the demolition of about 200 houses in the colony, terming them illegal. Many people have approached the court in this matter, but have not yet received any relief from there.
Houses that need to be vacated have been marked
The district administration has marked all the houses, indicating those that need to be vacated. This has created a wave of distress among the residents who have lived there for many years. They claim that the markings, which denote eviction orders, have been done improperly. Additionally, numerous legal cases concerning the matter are still pending in court, yet the evacuation orders proceed regardless.
Collector Ashish Singh has clarified that eviction orders have been issued for many houses. However, actions will only be taken against those not protected by a legal stay. The administration has marked houses in Nyay Nagar with either a cross or an 'S'. A cross signifies the houses slated for demolition, while an 'S' denotes the houses that have a court-ordered stay against eviction.
This situation has left the residents of Nyay Nagar in a precarious position, as they anxiously await a resolution that will secure their homes and future.
Residents angry with the order to demolish house
The case regarding Nyay Nagar was also going on in the court. On 18 July 2017, the Madhya Pradesh government had given permission to Indore DEvelopment Authority and Shriram Builder Institute to develop the colony, but a colony was built illegally on about seven and a half acres of land in Nyay Nagar and plots were sold.
The residents of the plots for which orders were given to demolish, built houses on those plots and took loans from banks, but suddenly the court gave orders to demolish those houses. After this, their troubles have increased.
