A new wave of excitement has swept through the two factions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Indore, spurred by the recent world record-breaking tree plantation event organized by the Kailash Vijayvargiya camp. This event, while officially a government initiative, saw Vijayvargiya himself at the helm, ensuring extensive public participation and successful execution.
Vijayvargiya's ambitious goal of planting 51 lakh saplings in the city was met with enthusiastic support from the people of Indore. This impressive achievement has garnered widespread praise for Vijayvargiya, further cementing his influence within the local political landscape.
In contrast, the camp led by former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, affectionately known as Tai, chose not to participate in this event. Instead, they are preparing to launch their own plantation campaign.
Trees to be planted in the temple premises of each ward
Under the Ahilya Bai Holkar Punyatithi Mahotsav, Mahajan will initiate a tree plantation drive across the city's temples, starting with Rudrabhishek ceremonies. This campaign aims to engage the public on a constituency-by-constituency basis, with trees being planted in the temple premises of each ward.
The differing approaches of these two influential BJP leaders highlight the dynamic political scene in Indore, with both camps vying to make significant environmental and social contributions to the city.
