Amarwada By Election Result: In an interesting turn of events, BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah has finally won the by-election of Amarwada assembly. BJP's Kamlesh Shah has won this election by 3252 votes. But due to the tables turning in the last two rounds, supporters of Congress candidate Dhiren Shah Inwati have accused the administration of rigging the election and have demanded re-counting.
Counting started at 8:30 am in Chhindwara's PG College. It started with the counting of ballot papers, then counting started with EVMs. BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah took the lead in the first two rounds. But from the third round itself, BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah started lagging behind continuously. By the 12th round, BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah was left behind by Congress candidate Dhiren Shah Inawati by seven and a half thousand votes.
But after this, in the counting till 17 rounds, the lead of Congress candidate Dheeran Shah Inwati had come down from seven and a half thousand to two and a half thousand votes.
Then the picture started changing in the 18th round. In the 18th round, BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah was ahead by 707 votes. After this, in the 19th round, Kamlesh Shah was ahead by 1741 votes and after the last round i.e. 20th round, Kamlesh Shah won the election by 3252 votes.
Congress demanded re-counting
Congress party accused the administration of rigging the election. Congress party alleges that BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah was ahead only in the first two rounds, Congress candidate Dhiren Shah was ahead in all the remaining rounds but there was rigging in the counting in the last two rounds, due to which BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah was declared the winner. At present, the Election Commission has not given any reaction to the allegations of Congress and their demand for re-counting.
