MP CM Mohan Yadav Orders Survey of State's Coaching Centers Following Delhi Flooding Incident, See Details


Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the untimely demise of three youths preparing for competitive exams due to water-logging in the basement in the accident that took place in Old Rajendra Nagar in Delhi is sad and painful. In the light of the incident, he has given instructions for a survey of coaching centers operating in basements in Madhya Pradesh. 


CM Dr. Yadav reviewed the rainfall situation in the state and the possibility of floods in some districts through video conference from the Mantralaya in Bhopal on Monday. He also instructed the collectors-commissioners of the districts to ensure necessary arrangements in case of excessive rainfall in the state.


Instructions issued for inspection of coaching institutes running in basements


Principal Secretary Urban Development Neeraj Mandloi said that in compliance with the instructions of CM Dr. Yadav, instructions have been given to look into the drainage system and ensure safe electricity system in case of water-logging in coaching places running in basements in the state. 


Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura said that 16 Municipal Corporation Commissioners are also connected to the video conference. They have been directed to inspect coaching institutes, Dharamshalas and institutions running in basements. Instructions have been given to take necessary precautions in lower settlements in various cities and towns and to be alert about the problems arising during rainy season due to spread of electric current in kutcha houses.


CM Dr. Yadav instructed that the Public Works Department should collect information about such bridges where accidents have happened in the past, the administration should ensure security arrangements on such culverts and bridges. If there is water filling on the bridges, do not let people pass over them. If water is released from the dams, alert the affected districts in advance. Divers should also be available at such places. 


There should be no hindrance in essential services


Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cleanliness should be taken care of in drinking water supply during rainy days. The general public should get useful and essential items without any hindrance. Essential services should be ensured.


Dr. Yadav said that open bore wells should also be closed immediately. Such negligence can lead to loss of life. Citizens should themselves be alert and the administrative staff should also be active and alert.


Ensure the safety of devotees in temples


Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the month of Sawan, the movement of devotees in temples is continuous. It should be assessed district-wise. Necessary security is also necessary on the routes of citizens going to religious places on festivals and also at those religious places which are near water sources or rivers. At places where the water level can rise, there should be a constant watch from the point of view of safety. Dr. Yadav received information from Commissioner Ujjain, Collector Shajapur, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur and Katni regarding rainfall situation and possibility of flood and gave instructions.
