Paris Olympics 2024: Lakshya Sen beats world number-4 player to enter Round of 16; PV Sindhu also outclassed this player


Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen has reached the Round of 16 by defeating Indonesia's Jonathan Christie 21-18, 21-12 in the men's singles match.


Christie is ranked fourth in the BWF World Rankings while Lakshya Sen is ranked 22.


Lakshya Sen has won two consecutive matches after which he is at the top of the L-group.


Lakshya Sen may face his compatriot HS Prannoy in the Round of 16 match.



PV Sindhu reaches Round of 16 by defeating Estonian player


Indian badminton player PV Sindhu defeated Estonia's Kristin Kuuba 21-5, 21-10 in the women's singles group game at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Wednesday.


Sindhu, currently ranked 13th in the BWF world rankings, won eight consecutive points in the opening game against world number 73 Kuuba.


The Indian badminton player has confirmed her place in the Round of 16 with today's win.


PV Sindhu is likely to face Youth Olympic champion He Bingjiao in the next match.


Sindhu had earlier won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics by defeating China's He Bingjiao. PV Sindhu has also won the silver medal in the Rio Olympics 2016.
