India got its second medal in Paris Olympics-2024 on Tuesday. Shooter Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won bronze in 10 meter pistol mixed event. The pair defeated Korea's team 16-10.
Manu Bhaker had also won bronze in 10 meter women's pistol event two days ago (28 July). With this, she has become the first Indian woman to win two medals in one Olympics.
India got double medal in shooting event of Olympic Games after 12 years. Earlier, Gagan Narang and Vijay Kumar won medals in shooting in 2012 London Olympics.
Manu Bhaker is a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana. 22-year-old Manu has graduated in Political Science. She has played half a dozen sports including boxing and karate during school time.
This is Manu Bhaker's second medal. Manu is playing her second Olympics.
Sarabjot Singh is a resident of Dhin village in Ambala district of Haryana. His father Jatinder Singh is a farmer. He has completed his studies at DAV College Chandigarh. He used to play football initially.
Sarabjot Singh is playing his first Olympic Games. In the 10 meter pistol men's event, India missed the medal by a small margin.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for clinching Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at Paris Olympics 2024.
The Prime Minister posted on X; “Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team
