Vinesh Phogat Reflects on Her Wrestling Future, What Did She Say About Quitting Game?

Following her disqualification before the final match of the wrestling event at the Paris Olympics 2024, Vinesh Phogat announced her intention to quit wrestling in a heartfelt social media post.


Upon her return to India, she received a grand welcome from supporters. However, Vinesh has since shared her thoughts on her future in the sport.


"I am contemplating my next steps," she stated. "It is not easy for any athlete to walk away from their sport, and it is no different for me."


Vinesh expressed her emotional turmoil, saying, "I am emotionally broken by what happened to me. My body is functioning, but mentally I am struggling."


She concluded, "Once I find some peace and take the time to reflect, I may be able to make a decision about my future and what lies ahead."

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
