Rahul Gandhi in America: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made serious allegations against China and the Modi government on the last day of his US tour. During a meeting at the National Press Club, he said that China has occupied 4000 square kilometers in Ladakh, that is, the land as much as Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to handle the situation.
Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government ignored the growing power of China, which could result in a major threat to the country's security. He questioned that if this had happened in America, would the President there have dealt with it in the same way?
Rahul said that the Modi government has completely failed to handle the growing power of China. The Congress MP said that earlier Western countries, America and Europe used to be productive. But now times have changed. Western countries have handed over the work of production to China. India also focused more on the service sector and focused on production. Due to this, there has been a lack of employment in India.
What Israel is doing is absolutely wrong
Rahul was asked India has been standing with Israel recently in the Middle East. How would you change that?
Rahul said, "Look, I think what happened on the 7th of October was absolutely wrong. But, I also think what Israel did and is doing, bombing innocent civilians, and killing women and children, is absolutely wrong and should not be allowed to continue. I'm against violence of any kind. And certainly, the scale of violence, I actually think, is harming Israel. It's harming Israel more than it's helping them,"
Things will stabilise in Bangladesh
Responding to a question on Bangladesh, Rashul said "There are concerns in India about extremist elements in Bangladesh and we share some of those concerns." "However, I'm confident that things will stabilise in Bangladesh and that we would be able to have a relationship with the current government or any other government after that," he said.
Earlier, Mr Gandhi had a meeting with a group of lawmakers at the US Capitol wherein the issue of Bangladesh was discussed.
Democratic institutions have weakened
Rahul Gandhi says that Indian democracy has weakened in the last 10 years. He alleged that the Modi government has weakened democratic institutions. Rahul also said that the Congress party had to face a lot of struggle while contesting elections, as even their bank accounts were frozen. He called it a direct attack on democracy.
Need for reservation and caste census
Rahul Gandhi also talked about caste discrimination and reservation in India. He said that 90% of the Indian population comes from tribal, Dalit, OBC and minority classes. These classes are not getting proper representation in the government and other institutions. Rahul said that at present there is a need for caste census in the country. Until the caste data is revealed, it will be difficult to remove this discrimination.
Rahul Gandhi said that there is a strong relationship between India and America. Whether it is US President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris, both give importance to relations with India. Therefore, the policies of the Modi government will not make a big difference in this matter. India-US relations will become even stronger in the times to come.
BJP's counterattack on Rahul
BJP has reacted sharply to these statements of Rahul Gandhi. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that Rahul is trying to tarnish the country's image by going abroad. He said that Rahul Gandhi's inclination towards China is clearly visible, and his statement is a well-planned conspiracy. Rahul Gandhi is cheating the Indian Constitution. He is conspiring to end reservation. Prasad also said that Rahul Gandhi's going on foreign tours and making statements against India is a well-planned strategy.
