India Responds to US Court summons on alleged plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, details inside

India on US Court Summons: India has termed the summons issued by the US court on the alleged conspiracy to kill Khalistani separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun as "completely inappropriate". The Indian Foreign Ministry has reacted strongly on this matter on Thursday (September 19). Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vikram Misri said that this matter is related to India's sovereignty and foreign policy and it cannot be taken lightly. India clarified that the country is against any kind of support for terrorism and rejects such allegations.

In this case, India has been accused of allegedly conspiring to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. The US court has issued summons in this regard. Some officials of India have been accused in the case. It has been alleged that India had conspired to kill Pannun. However, India has described these allegations as completely baseless and politically motivated. This matter has become a topic of discussion at the international level.

The Ministry of External Affairs has taken this matter seriously. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that a high-level committee is already working on this issue. Pannun's criminal record is already known and he is associated with an illegal organization. Pannun leads the radical 'Sikhs for Justice'. This organization gives provocative speeches against Indian institutions and leaders. India declared Pannun a terrorist in 2020.

NSA Doval is also an accused in this case

This summons of the US court include the names of India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, former RAW chief Samant Goel, RAW agent Vikram Yadav and Indian businessman Nikhil Gupta. The court has sought a reply from them within 21 days. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has dual citizenship of America and Canada. In November last year, a British newspaper claimed a conspiracy to kill Pannun. This newspaper had said in its report that US officials have foiled the plot to kill Pannun. After this, the Biden administration of America also confirmed it.

What did Foreign Minister Jaishankar say on this issue?

Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar had said in May this year that the investigation of this matter is going on, but it will not affect India-US relations. US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has also made it clear that the relationship between India and America will not be affected by this matter. He said that the relations between the two countries are growing continuously and this issue will not affect them.

Issue can affect bilateral relations

However, this matter can affect the relations between India and America. Both the countries are cooperating on many fronts. Especially in the field of defense and trade, both the countries are working together. But such issues can create diplomatic tension between the two countries. India has sought clarification from the US on this matter. The Foreign Ministry has said that such allegations can harm the relations between the two countries. We expect appropriate action from the US in this matter.

There has been no response from America

So far the US government has not given any clear response on this matter. However, the US court has issued summons in this matter. It remains to be seen how the US handles this matter. Given the relations between India and America, this matter can be resolved at the diplomatic level.

This matter has also become a topic of discussion at the international level. India has said that it rejects any kind of misinformation in this matter and will take all necessary steps to protect its interests.
