Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, September 13.

Supreme Court has granted this bail in CBI's FIR related to Delhi government's excise policy.

This case was heard by a bench of Justice Suryakant and Ujjwal Bhuyan and the decision was reserved on September 5.

Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan, while granting bail, said that CBI should break the image of a caged parrot and show him that he is not a caged parrot.

Justice Bhuyan also questioned the timing of Kejriwal's arrest. He said that when he got bail in the ED case, CBI arrested him again.

Kejriwal had filed two petitions in the Supreme Court. One of these petitions was against not being granted bail. The second petition was filed against the CBI arrest in this case.

In March 2024, Kejriwal was arrested by the ED team.

On July 12, Kejriwal got bail from the Supreme Court in the ED case.

But as soon as he got bail, the CBI arrested Kejriwal in the month of June. ThereforeKejriwal could not come out of jail then.

Earlier, Sanjay Singh had come out on bail.

Aam Aadmi Party has been alleging that BJP is trapping opposition leaders in false allegations using central agencies. BJP has been rejecting such allegations and saying that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.
