Ayodhya: Ram Mandir Prepares for Deepotsav with Special Diwali Arrangements

In anticipation of the upcoming Deepotsav, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has meticulously planned to adorn the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir with uniquely crafted, peacock-shaped earthen diyas. These decorative diyas have been specially designed to prevent oil from spilling onto the temple floor, thus preserving its pristine condition.

Thoughtful Diya Placement to Protect Temple Aesthetics

To maintain the beauty of the newly constructed temple and prevent any staining, the Trust has procured around 700 peacock-shaped diyas that will be strategically placed within the main temple complex.

Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, explained that the use of these diyas has been limited to specific areas. "The Trust has curtailed the use of diyas in the temple campus to avoid black spots. Only peacock-shaped diyas will be used inside the main temple," he stated.

The grand Ram Mandir, which officially opened to devotees on January 22, 2024, is a marvel of architecture, constructed with approximately 4.75 lakh cubic feet of Bansi Paharpur stone sourced from Rajasthan. The special considerations regarding diya usage reflect the Trust’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity and beauty of this newly built place of worship.

Temple complex will be adorned with flowers and traditional lighting

This Diwali will mark the first festival celebration since the temple's inauguration, and the Trust has planned an elaborate program to make the occasion memorable. The entire temple complex will be adorned with flowers and traditional lighting to enhance the festive ambiance.

Acharya Satyendra Das, the head priest of Ram Lalla, along with a team of priests, will conduct Vedic rituals on Diwali to bless the temple and its devotees. These rituals will honor the arrival of Diwali and strengthen the spiritual foundation of the Ram Mandir.

No Chinese Products in Decorations

In alignment with a commitment to support indigenous products, the Trust has announced a strict policy prohibiting the use of any Chinese decorative items within the Ram Janmabhoomi premises. This includes restrictions on Chinese lights, a decision that echoes the Trust’s emphasis on using Indian-made items to uphold cultural and national values.

Champat Rai reiterated this stance, saying, “The Trust will make all arrangements for Diwali celebrations at Ram Janmabhoomi. No Chinese items, including Chinese lights, will be allowed on the Ram Janmabhoomi campus.”

Special Attire for Ram Lalla and His Brothers

Adding to the grandeur of the Deepotsav celebrations, Ram Lalla and his brothers will don specially crafted attire for the occasion. Renowned Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra has been entrusted with designing these unique outfits, ensuring that the deities are dressed in beautiful traditional attire reflective of the festive spirit.

Record-Breaking Diya Lighting Target

The Uttar Pradesh state government, in conjunction with the temple’s Diwali celebrations, has set an ambitious goal of lighting 25 lakh diyas for this year’s Deepotsav. This goal aims to establish a new Guinness World Record, setting an impressive benchmark for future celebrations. The large-scale diya lighting event symbolizes the illumination of spiritual devotion and the cultural significance of the Deepotsav festival in Ayodhya.

This Deepotsav at Ram Mandir is set to be a remarkable event, combining traditional rituals with stunning visuals to create a festive atmosphere for devotees and visitors alike.
