Jharkhand Election 2024: What Champai Soren Said After Filing Nomination From Seraikela?


Seraikela: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren filed his nomination on Friday. He filed his nomination papers as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Saraikela assembly constituency. Saraikela is one of the 43 assembly constituencies where polling will be held in the first phase on November 13.


The process of filing nominations for the first phase started on October 18 and will end on Friday. Soren joined the BJP on August 30, citing humiliation and contempt at the hands of JMM i.e. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders.


Soren claimed that there is a wave in favor of BJP in the state. He said that there is a wave in favor of BJP in entire Jharkhand including Kolhan region. BJP will form the government this time.


He said, “Today filed nomination as BJP candidate from Seraikela assembly. The enthusiasm of the people during the nomination amid heavy rains was heart-touching. All of you are requested to pave the way for change of power in Jharkhand by voting for the lotus symbol. “


Ganesh Mahli filed nomination from JMM


JMM candidate from Seraikela seat Ganesh Mahli also reached the nomination center to submit his documents. Mahli recently left BJP and joined JMM. JMM on Thursday announced Mahli's name as the party candidate for this seat in its fourth list of candidates.


Jharkhand assembly elections will be held in two phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on November 13 and the second phase on November 20. Counting of votes will be done on November 23. Till Thursday, 433 candidates filed nomination papers for 43 assembly constituencies in the first phase. The process of filing nominations for the second phase has started from October 22 and will continue till October 29.
