Kashmir: Terrorists target army vehicle in Baramulla: 2 soldiers martyred, 2 porters die, search operation begins


Terrorists attacked a vehicle of 18 Rashtriya Rifles near LoC in Nagin area of ​​Gulmarg in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening. 2 soldiers were martyred in the firing by terrorists. Apart from this, 2 porters also died.


Porters are there to help the army, they help in delivering goods to the hilly areas and front posts. 3 army soldiers were injured in the attack. All the injured were admitted to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar, 2 of them succumbed to their injuries.


According to army sources, more than 3 terrorists may be involved in the attack. Security forces have cordoned off the area and started searching for the terrorists. It is believed that the terrorists might have infiltrated from LoC in Bota Pathri sector of North Kashmir.


Separate Incidents in Pulwama and Srinagar


Earlier on Thursday morning, terrorists opened fire on a laborer in Batgund in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir, resulting in injuries to him. The injured laborer identified as Shubham Kumar, is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.


Additionally, on the same morning, the body of a non-Kashmiri youth was discovered in the Gunbagh area of Srinagar. According to police reports, the deceased was identified as MD Jahud, a resident of West Bengal.


This is the third attack on non-Kashmiris in Jammu and Kashmir in the last one week. Earlier, terrorists had carried out target killings in Ganderbal on 20 October and in Shopian on 18 October, in which 7 people were killed.


In view of the continuous terrorist attacks, a high level meeting was also held in Raj Bhavan today. North Wing Commander, Jammu and Kashmir DGP, Corps Commander and officials of intelligence agencies participated in it.
