Madhya Pradesh is home to a rich and glorious heritage, and the state government is now fully prepared to ensure its preservation. This initiative aims to protect these cultural assets in a manner that not only instills pride in the people but also creates significant employment opportunities across the region.
Meeting venue designed to resemble historic fort of Rani Durgavati
A major decision in this regard is likely to be taken during the cabinet meeting scheduled for Saturday in Singhrampur, Jabera, located in Damoh district. This meeting is notable as it will be the first time the cabinet is convened in an open setting, held in honor of the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati. The meeting venue has been designed to resemble the historic fort of Rani Durgavati, complete with a grand fort-like entrance and a newly constructed Shiva temple.
The cabinet meeting is set to commence at 11:30 AM, with ministers already beginning to arrive in nearby Jabalpur. Despite the meeting being in Damoh district, Singhrampur’s proximity to Jabalpur has led ministers to base themselves in the city for logistical ease. Most will travel to Singhrampur from Jabalpur on Saturday morning, while Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is expected to arrive the same day.
Singhrampur as a Potential Tourist Destination
The cabinet may also discuss a proposal to allocate funds for the preservation of Madhya Pradesh’s cultural and historical heritage. In addition, initiatives to protect the state's rivers and ensure they remain pollution-free may be presented. A key project under consideration is the Narmada-Sunar-Kopra river link, which could receive approval during the meeting.
Construction of resort in Singhrampur planned
To further boost tourism in the region, the Tourism Department has proposed the construction of a resort in Singhrampur through a public-private partnership (PPP). This development is expected to attract more tourists and boost local economies. Alongside this, a proposal to expand the airstrip in Sitanagar may also be reviewed, enhancing accessibility to the region. Other proposals include the development of Singhrampur as a tourist destination, building an auditorium, and opening a CM Rise School to promote education in the area.
Laadli Behna Scheme Disbursement
During the meeting, financial transfers will also be made to eligible beneficiaries under the state’s Laadli Behna Yojana. These transfers will include payments under the Social Security Pension Scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Additionally, several developmental projects will be inaugurated, and the best-performing students from Hardua Jamsha village in Batiagarh block will be honored.
A Tribute to Rani Durgavati’s Legacy
The cabinet venue will pay homage to the legacy of Rani Durgavati, with its design reflecting the grandeur of her fort. The structure will feature magnificent stone walls, arched windows, and design elements inspired by Gond art, symbolizing her deep connection to the Gond community of the Singhrampur area.
Ministers to Dine in a Traditional Setting
In a nod to local tradition, the dining area has been decorated to resemble the courtyard of a traditional Gond village. Guests will dine under the trees, with meals served in ancient bronze utensils brought from Hata. The ministers' workspaces will also be adorned with Gond art and murals, offering a unique blend of practicality and cultural beauty.
This meeting, rich in cultural symbolism and progressive initiatives, is expected to set the stage for a new era of heritage preservation and tourism development in Madhya Pradesh.
