In a shocking incident reported from Munger, Bihar, Pankaj Yadav, a senior leader and state general secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), was shot by assailants during his morning walk. His current condition is critical, and he is receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Details indicate that the shooting occurred in the Safiasarai police station area while Yadav was walking near the airport ground. Munger Sadar SSP Rajesh Kumar confirmed that the RJD leader sustained a gunshot wound to the chest but is now reportedly out of danger according to medical staff.
The police are actively investigating the incident. Pankaj Yadav's father, Ramcharitra Yadav, has accused two individuals, including Mittu Yadav, who allegedly approached Pankaj earlier in the week to request his assistance in a police matter, which Pankaj declined.
JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan said on this incident that since 2005, Bihar police has a track record that no criminal has been able to escape. He said, "The attackers will be arrested very soon, be it anyone, a party leader, worker or common man. If any incident happens, the police understands its responsibilities very well."
After this incident, BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that the Munger incident is sad but the criminals will be caught soon. The NDA government in Bihar will also take strict action against the criminals. We are not irresponsible like Tejashwi Yadav. Here the people are drowning in floods and they are having fun in Dubai.
