What Rahul Gandhi said on Haryana Election Result-2024? What Pawan Khera said?

Following an unexpected defeat in the Haryana assembly elections, the Congress party has raised concerns over the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and overall election management. On October 9, Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, broke his silence on the election results, addressing the public for the first time since the party's loss.

Rahul expressed the party's intent to file complaints with the Election Commission (EC) regarding irregularities reported from multiple assembly constituencies. He also extended his gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their unwavering support during the elections.

Rahul Gandhi's Message on Social Media

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rahul Gandhi conveyed his appreciation to the voters of Jammu and Kashmir, calling their support a testament to the triumph of the Indian Constitution and democratic values.

Rahul wrote: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the people of Jammu and Kashmir – India's victory in the state is a victory of the Constitution, a victory of democratic values. We are analyzing the unexpected result of Haryana. We will inform the Election Commission about the complaints coming from many assembly constituencies. Heartfelt thanks to all the people of Haryana for their support and our Babbar Sher workers for their tireless hard work. We will continue this struggle for rights, socio-economic justice, and truth, and will keep raising your voice."

Cong Expresses Discontent with Haryana Results

On the same day, the Congress party officially expressed their dissatisfaction with the Haryana election results, which they have deemed "unacceptable." Party spokesperson Pawan Khera labeled the outcome as a defeat of democracy, highlighting the party's surprise and dismay at the unexpected nature of the loss.

Khera remarked, "The results are unexpected, and we reject them. We are consistently receiving complaints from our candidates in districts such as Hisar, Mahendragarh, and Panipat."

Khera emphasized that the party is determined to approach the Election Commission with their grievances and will be filing formal complaints regarding the anomalies. "This is a defeat of democracy, and we cannot accept it," Khera added. "No one expected such a result in Haryana, and we are all surprised by it."

EVM Concerns

The Congress party has been vocal about its concerns regarding the integrity of EVMs used during the Haryana elections. The party alleges that discrepancies in the voting machines may have contributed to their unexpected defeat. According to reports from various districts, machines exhibited inconsistencies in vote counts, with some machines indicating a nearly complete loss for Congress, while others reflected a different outcome altogether.

These issues have led Congress to question the overall election management and transparency, urging the Election Commission to investigate and address the complaints. The party's leaders have indicated that they will continue to press for a thorough examination of the election process and demand corrective measures to ensure fair and transparent voting in the future.

The Road Ahead for Congress

Despite the defeat, Rahul Gandhi reassured his supporters in Haryana that the Congress party remains committed to its mission of advocating for socio-economic justice, rights, and truth. He praised the hard work and dedication of party workers, calling them "Babbar Sher," a term symbolizing their courage and strength. Gandhi's message also emphasized the importance of continuing the struggle for justice and amplifying the voices of the people.

While the party grapples with the electoral setback in Haryana, it appears determined to address the grievances and irregularities through formal channels. The Congress party's leadership is expected to meet with the Election Commission soon to discuss the concerns raised by their candidates and to seek a resolution that upholds the principles of democracy.
