The International Climate Change Conference is set to begin on Monday in Baku, Azerbaijan, where Bhopal's environmentalist Dr. Sakshi Bhardwaj will represent India.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has greeted Sakshi Bhardwaj, for her participation in the COP29 event being held at the international level in the field of environment. CM Dr. Yadav said that Dr. Sakshi's participation is a matter of pride.
The 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference is being organised by the United Nations in Baku city of Azerbaijan from 11 to 22 November 2024. Dr. Sakshi Bhardwaj of Madhya Pradesh has been selected to represent India and Madhya Pradesh in this international conference COP29.
CM Dr. Yadav said that the organization of India's first state-level Pre-COP conference in Bhopal last month has also been a meaningful effort in the field of environmental protection.
Dr. Sakshi has been working for environmental protection for many years. Apart from being honoured with the State Youth Award, Dr. Sakshi is also the brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat from Bhopal.
CM Dr. Yadav said that this achievement of representation on the global platform will play an inspiring role in bringing the youth of the country forward in the field of environmental protection.
Selection by the United Nations
Eighteen people from across the country have been selected to participate in this International Climate Change Conference on behalf of the United Nations, with Dr. Sakshi Bhardwaj being the sole representative from Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Bhardwaj stated that she will share her insights on various topics, including India's perspectives on environmental issues, forest habitat initiatives for environmental protection, biodiversity, microforestry, global warming, and agrivoltaic farming.
