Delhi Assembly Elections-2025: AAP Unveils First List with 11 Candidates, Including 6 Leaders Who Defected from BJP, Congress


New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has released first lists of eleven candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly election-2025 on Thursday. The assembly polls are scheduled to take place in February next year. This decision came after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal held a party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting today at his residence in New Delhi.


The list includes 11 names, of which six are leaders who have departed from either the BJP or Congress to join AAP.


Brahm Singh Tanwar, BB Tyagi and Anil Jha had recently left BJP. Zubair Chaudhary, Veer Singh Dhingan and Sumesh Shaukeen have joined AAP from Congress.


The current term of Delhi Assembly is ending on 23 February 2025. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and won 62 out of 70 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win only 8 seats, while Congress did not even open its account.
