Jharkhand Assembly elections-2024: In a series of campaign rallies on Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma passionately addressed the people of Jharkhand, urging them to vote wisely to uphold the pride and security of the state’s poor, youth, women, and Hindu population.
Speaking on the final day of campaigning for the Jharkhand Assembly elections-2024, Sarma emphasized the need for careful decision-making, promising that a BJP-led government would bring significant change, including the removal of alleged infiltrators from the state.
Accusations Against the Current Government
Sarma’s speeches targeted the incumbent Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government, accusing it of failing to deliver on promises made during the 2019 elections. He argued that Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s administration had been marred by corruption and scams, with little concern for the state’s development or the welfare of its residents. Sarma said JMM paid no attention to job creation, provided no support to the youth, and failed to protect the state’s vulnerable communities.
Sarma takes jibe at Kalpana's slogan
In a rally at Mandu in the Hazaribagh district, Sarma commented on the JMM’s campaign slogan led by Soren’s wife, Kalpana Soren: “Ek hi naara, Hemant dobara” (One slogan, Hemant once more). Sarma responded critically, asking, “Who will speak for the youth, women, and poor in Jharkhand? This election is not about ‘Hemant dobara’ but about the welfare of the people, especially the poor and the youth.” He reinforced his message, stressing that this election was crucial for protecting the rights and pride of Jharkhand’s most vulnerable populations.
Promises of Jobs and Financial Assistance for Youth
Sarma presented a detailed plan to address unemployment and provide financial assistance if the BJP gains control in Jharkhand. He pointed out that the Soren government had committed to creating five lakh jobs and introducing an unemployment allowance but had failed to fulfill promise.
