Madhya Pradesh Minister Narendra Shivaji Patel's Surprise Action against Illegal Sand Mining Raises Political Stir; This Dept Is Under CM Mohan Yadav

State Minister Narendra Shivaji Patel, responsible for Public Health and Medical Education in Madhya Pradesh, has created a buzz by taking bold steps in another department—the Mineral Resources Department, which is managed directly by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Patel’s unexpected intervention, especially in a department not under his jurisdiction, has stirred political circles and sparked widespread discussion.

Patel Catches Overloaded Dumpers

In a late-night operation, Patel conducted a surprise inspection in Raisen district, where he found overloaded dumpers carrying sand. This raid, unusual for a minister from the Health Department, underscores his commitment to addressing illegal activities impacting his constituency.

Upon spotting the dumpers at the Harsili toll plaza on the Bari-Bareilly route, Patel halted two heavily loaded sand dumpers and instructed police to take immediate action. Bari Police Station’s in-charge, Kapil Gupta, was directed to handle the matter with strict measures, highlighting Patel’s resolve to curb illegal sand transportation.

Overloaded Dumpers Wreaking Havoc on Roads

The issue of overloaded sand dumpers was not new to Patel, as he had been receiving complaints from his constituents regarding the damage caused by these vehicles. Aware of the public frustration, Patel decided to take matters into his own hands.

Speaking with the media, he expressed his concerns about the detrimental effect these overloaded vehicles were having on local roads, which are crucial for the region’s connectivity. Patel stressed that the infrastructure damage caused by these dumpers would not be tolerated and warned that he would continue taking action if the issue persists.

Patel’s direct involvement is also politically significant, as he prioritized his constituency’s concerns over his official departmental boundaries. In his view, public complaints necessitated immediate attention, and he acted decisively to prevent further road damage and ensure road safety for his constituents.

Patel shares details of incident

According to reports, Patel was en route to Bhopal when he noticed overloaded sand dumpers on the National Highway. Determined to address the issue on the spot, he halted these vehicles and notified the police, who then took custody of the dumpers.

Patel also shared details of the incident on social media, where he informed the public about his action and criticized the sand contractors and transporters responsible for overloading. Citing violations of the sand contractor’s TP (Transit Permit), Patel called for strict measures against both contractors and transporters to deter such practices in the future.

This action marks a significant moment, as Patel’s decision to go beyond his administrative role in the Health Department to protect his constituency’s infrastructure reflects his proactive stance and dedication to public service.

Cong Reacts: Opposition Alleges Political Motivations

The opposition Congress party, however, was quick to criticize Patel’s late-night operation. Congress leader Abhinav Baraulia released a video statement questioning Patel’s actions. He suggested that the Minister’s inspection of dumpers, which had reportedly been cleared by the mineral officer, seemed suspicious, particularly given that the Mineral Resources Department is under the Chief Minister’s direct control. Baraulia alleged that the inspection was an attempt to manipulate the flow of funds and hinted at ulterior motives behind Patel’s intervention.

The Congress’s critique raises questions about potential conflicts within the ruling party and underscores the broader political dimensions of Patel’s intervention. The fact that a minister from one department took action in another, especially one overseen by the Chief Minister, has fueled speculation about the dynamics within the state government.
