Bhopal: MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav thanked PM Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of the state for the scheme to develop 40 special tourist spots of the country according to global standards. He said that PM Modi has approved the Special Assistance States Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for 40 identified tourist places of the country for an amount of about Rs 3300 crore.
Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh's religious and holy city Orchha and International Centre for MICE in Bhopal will be developed as world class iconic centres. They are among the 40 tourist places in 23 states of the country to be developed by the Central Government. Dr. Yadav said that with the development of tourist places, the tourism industry and the small and big industries and local markets are also benefited as more tourists will arrive.
CM Dr. Yadav said that beautification of tourist places makes them a centre of attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. He said that to meet international criteria for tourist destinations, it is essential to have proper maintenance arrangements, as well as comprehensive facilities such as guides, cafeterias, hotels, and guest houses for visitors
This scheme aims to promote the development, branding and world trade of the prestigious tourist centres of the states, local economy as well as employment generation. Dr. Yadav said that this will definitely promote tourism, employment, market, economy as well as spread the glorious culture and tradition of India.
The Union Ministry of Tourism has recently sanctioned projects under the SASCI scheme, aiming to transform iconic tourist centres into global-scale destinations.
