PM Modi Celebrates Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in Bihar: On Friday, November 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebrations in Jamui district, Bihar, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. This event, organized in Ballapur, Khaira block, highlighted the contributions of India’s tribal communities.

PM Modi honored the tribal people as the "true protectors of Lord Ram" and acknowledged their significant yet historically overlooked contributions. He emphasized that the time has come to give tribals the respect they have long deserved.

Nitish Kumar praised Modi’s leadership, saying, "PM Modi is doing everything for the country, and Bihar is also getting his full support." Nitish reaffirmed his alliance with the Prime Minister, sparking fresh political speculations in Bihar’s political landscape.
Launch of Development Projects Worth Rs 6,640 Crore
During the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebrations, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects valued at Rs 6,640 crore.
Key projects include the establishment of two Tribal Freedom Fighter Museums and the Birsa Munda Tribal Upvan, which aim to preserve tribal culture and their deep connection to nature. PM Modi noted that these initiatives would benefit the tribal community by generating employment and skill training opportunities, promoting socioeconomic growth within tribal regions.
Festive Wishes and the Significance of the Day
PM Modi highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of the day, as it coincided with Kartik Purnima, Dev Deepawali, and the 500th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He extended festive wishes to all citizens, and announced that Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary will now be celebrated as National Tribal Pride Day.
Commitment to Tribal Development: Dharti Aabha, Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan
PM Modi introduced the Dharti Aabha, Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, an ambitious initiative aiming to invest approximately Rs 80,000 crore in the development of over 60,000 tribal villages. This campaign is designed to enhance training and employment opportunities for tribal youth while ensuring access to essential resources. PM Modi emphasized the NDA government's commitment to empowering tribal districts through dedicated development projects.
Legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Tribal Welfare
Reflecting on the roots of tribal welfare initiatives, PM Modi credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for establishing the first separate ministry dedicated to tribal welfare. He noted that ten years ago, the budget for tribal areas was Rs 25,000 crore, which has since been increased to Rs 1.25 lakh crore under the current NDA government. Modi highlighted this increased budget as a step toward mainstreaming tribal communities and promoting their social and economic upliftment.

The Prime Minister expressed pride in the election of Droupadi Murmu, India’s first tribal President, by the NDA.
