Two former chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav, have targeted the BJP government on the protest of students outside the office of UP Public Service Commission in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
BSP chief Mayawati has written on the social media site X, "Is UP so short of basic facilities to conduct exams at one time that a special exam like PCS has to be conducted in two days? Stopping paper leaks and credibility of exams are important issues, for which a one-time exam system is necessary. The government should pay attention to this."
Mayawati said that it is natural for the news of the situation arising from police action on the students to be widely discussed.

At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav has released a statement addressing the situation. He accused the BJP of engaging in politics that distracts the public with struggles for basic livelihoods, allowing the party to carry out corruption while masking it with communal issues.
In his written statement, Yadav asserts, "For years, either job vacancies have not been announced or the examination processes have been stalled. The BJP has pushed students from their study tables to the streets."

According to the schedule released on November 5, the RO and RO-ARO exam will be held in three shifts on December 22 and 23. While, the Provincial Civil Service (PCS) exam is scheduled to be held in two shifts on December 7 and 8.
Students have further alleged that this move by UPPSC to conduct exam in multiple shifts is unfair to them. According to them, the multiple shifts will lead to normalisation in the results which they do no want.
On this matter, Prayagraj District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar has said that many student committees had suggested to the government that incidents like cheating, paper leaks happen in the examination, so only government institutions should be made examination centers.
