Sakhya Sagar and Madhav Sagar lakes attract migratory birds
The park is distinguished by its diverse ecosystems, encompassing lakes, meadows, and forests. Located in the southern part of the park, Sakhya Sagar and Madhav Sagar are two lakes that contribute to the area's aquatic biodiversity and serve as vital water sources for terrestrial species. These lakes enhance the natural beauty of the landscape while providing a permanent water supply for wildlife and creating a rich wetland habitat for aquatic fauna, including thousands of migratory waterfowl.
Sakhya Sagar is particularly known for its abundant Marsh Crocodiles, making it resemble a "Crocodile Safari," which draws special attention from tourists. Additionally, the Madikhera Dam is located in the northwestern part of the park.
Rich Wildlife Diversity
The forests are home to various antelope species, including Nilgai, Chinkara, and Chowsinga, as well as deer such as Chital, Sambar, and Barking Deer. Visitors may encounter wildlife such as Leopards, Wolves, Jackals, Foxes, Wild Dogs, and Wild Pigs. The reptilian fauna includes Marsh Crocodiles, Turtles, and various species of snakes.
