Maharashtra CM Post: As suspense lingers over the appointment of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis met caretaker CM Eknath Shinde in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. Fadnavis arrived at the CM’s official residence, Varsha Bungalow, where the two held a private meeting lasting about half an hour. This marks their second meeting since the Maharashtra election results, the first having taken place in Delhi.
Shinde may meet Shiv Sena MLAs
Before Fadnavis’ visit, BJP leader Girish Mahajan had already met Shinde to discuss the division of ministries. Mahajan, Shinde, and Uday Samant reportedly held talks in the chamber room of the bungalow, signaling intense deliberations on power-sharing dynamics.
Sources indicate that Shinde is scheduled to meet Shiv Sena MLAs later tonight to make crucial decisions regarding the formation of the government. This late-night meeting could play a pivotal role in shaping the next steps for the Mahayuti coalition.
BJP Legislature Party Meeting on Dec 4
The BJP Legislature Party is set to convene on December 4 at 11 a.m., with former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attending as observers. Rupani, who has already arrived in Mumbai, emphasized the importance of collective decision-making, stating, “We will take everyone's opinion in tomorrow's meeting, only after that a decision will be taken.”
As political maneuvering continues, all eyes are on the upcoming BJP meeting and the internal discussions within the Shiv Sena, which will determine the next Chief Minister and the distribution of key portfolios in Maharashtra’s new government.
