Bihar BPSC protest: Prashant Kishor, who was on a hunger strike in support of BPSC aspirants at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, has been taken into custody by the police in the wee hours. He was detained by Patna police around 4 am on Monday, during which there was a brief tussle between him and the police.
Prashant Kishor was first taken to Patna AIIMS, but due to his stubbornness, he was taken towards Naubatpur (a rural area near Patna).
DPRO Lokesh Kumar Jha confirmed that Prashant Kishor has been arrested and will undergo a medical examination, after which he will be produced in court.
Before his arrest, while talking to reporters, Prashant Kishor denied ending the hunger strike, saying that "doctors have advised to end the hunger strike, but it will continue."
He also denied knowledge of filing a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the BPSC exam, stating that he will move the High Court on January 7.
Sunday was the fourth day of Prashant Kishor's hunger strike. He started the hunger strike on Thursday last week.
BPSC candidates have started the agitation from December 18 after allegations of rigging in the exam held on December 13, and are demanding that the exam be conducted again.
