Delhi assembly elections 2025: The countdown for the assembly elections to be held in the national capital Delhi has begun. Political parties have jumped into the electoral fray with full force. Former Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal has hit back at Amit Shah's statement. Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party, Kejriwal said that during his 10-year tenure in Delhi, development work in the city was obstructed and the constituencies in which BJP won were turned into hell.
Kejriwal made this remark at a public meeting in Jangpura constituency while campaigning in favour of party candidate Manish Sisodia for the Delhi assembly elections. Kejriwal said that last time BJP had won in eight assembly constituencies. They did not allow any work to be done in their areas. Those eight MLAs turned their assembly constituencies into hell.
AAP builds govt schools BJP closes them
Kejriwal told the voters that you people should not make such a mistake. He appealed to the voters to elect Sisodia as MLA and said that he and former Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia together made the government schools better for the better future of their children. Kejriwal said that now the BJP people are saying that if their government is formed, they will close all the government schools here too. Who do you have to choose – AAP, which builds government schools or BJP, which closes them.
Sisodia, who is contesting from Jangpura after leaving Patparganj seat, promised 'transformational' governance if he wins the election. He said that if I win from Jangpura, then every brother and sister here will become Deputy Chief Minister. No one can dare to stop the work of the people here. BJP has fielded Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Congress has fielded Farhad Suri on Jangpura seat. The results of the assembly elections will be declared on February 8.
What did Amit Shah say?
Earlier, on Sunday Union Home Minister Amit Shah called AAP a 'party of illegal income' and alleged that the party did nothing but spread lies to get votes and was involved in corruption under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal during its 10-year rule in Delhi. Addressing a public meeting in Delhi's Narela assembly constituency, Amit Shah accused Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party of insulting Purvanchalis living in Delhi with their comments. Along with this, he accused the AAP of misgovernance in the capital. Amit Shah said that Kejriwal lied only to get votes... AAP means 'party of illegal income'.
