Delhi Assembly elections-2025 are near. The political parties here have also released the list of their candidates. AAP has and other political parties have begun unveiling their candidate lists. The AAP has introduced several initiatives aimed at attracting voters. However, a new scheme from the Congress party may add pressure on former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This comes on the heels of Kejriwal's announcement of the Mahila Samman Yojana, which promises to provide Rs 2,100 per month to women in Delhi.
The Delhi Congress on Monday announced the 'Pyari Didi Yojana' to give monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to all eligible women in the city if it comes to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
To impress Delhi voters, the party also invited Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to the media briefing where he highlighted the success of a similar scheme in his state and called it a role model even for the BJP-ruled states.
Pyari Didi Yojana inspired by Hemant Soren's Maiya Samman
Congress has copied the formula of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren to woo female voters. The Jharkhand government is giving the highest amount of money for women in the country. Under the Maiya Samman Yojana, the government is giving Rs 2500 every month to the beneficiaries.
Today, on January 6, the Hemant government has also started \transferring the hiked amount of this scheme to the accounts of women. It is worth noting that in this election environment of Delhi, on Monday, January 6, Congress has announced the 'Pyari Didi' scheme. Under this scheme, Rs 2500 per month is going to come in the accounts of women of Delhi.
Kejriwal's worries may increase
In the Delhi Assembly elections 2025, Congress has gone ahead of the Aam Aadmi Party by announcing the 'Pyari Didi' scheme. Aam Aadmi Party had announced to give only Rs 2100 under the 'Mahila Samman Yojana'. But today Congress has set a different benchmark by announcing to give Rs 2500 under the 'Pyari Didi' scheme. How much the people of Delhi are going to be affected by this scheme will be known only after the results of the election come.
At present, the political temperature here has become very high regarding the Delhi elections. Elections are likely to be held in Delhi in the month of February this year.
