Delhi Assembly Elections-2025: The campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections is entering its final phase, leading to a rise in political tensions. Sandeep Dikshit, the Congress candidate for the New Delhi Assembly seat, has issued a public challenge to incumbent Arvind Kejriwal for a debate on January 31 at Jantar Mantar.
In a letter to Kejriwal, Dikshit expressed his challenge regarding the former Chief Minister's performance as an MLA from New Delhi. He said, "I have systematically not only questioned your various claims using the data of the Delhi government, but have also proved them completely false.
Kejriwal does not have the courage to face the truth
Sandeep Dikshit said that he knows that Kejriwal "does not have the courage" to face the truth as he fears his "fabricated lies" will be exposed publicly. He said that this debate will be held at Jantar Mantar on January 31 between 2 and 3 pm.
Dikshit wrote in the letter that “I hope that as the former Chief Minister of Delhi, you will answer these questions yourself or in a public program or in a debate where we can come together on one platform.
Kejriwal facing a tough challenge on the New Delhi assembly seat. On one side is the high profile Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit, while on the other side BJP has fielded Parvesh Verma against Kejriwal. This is why this seat is a triangular fight. In such a situation, it is a do or die contest for Kejriwal.
Voting will be held on all 70 seats in Delhi on February 5. The results will be declared on February 8. A total of 699 candidates are in the fray for 70 assembly seats. The current term of the assembly is ending on February 23.
