There has been a standoff between the farmers and the central government for the last 11 months. On the Shambhu and Khanauri border, the farmers are adamant about marching to Delhi, while on the other hand the government is also not ready to listen.
Meanwhile, after receiving an invitation for talks from the central government, the march to Delhi on January 21 was cancelled, but the tractor march on January 26 will be held as per the schedule. Tractors will be parked in front of the houses and offices of BJP MLAs and ministers.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher made this announcement. He said that the tractor march will be held from 12 noon to 1.30 pm. Protests will also be held by parking tractors in front of shopping malls and godowns of big corporate houses.
Haryana's Khap Panchayats to support the farmers
At the same time, now Haryana's most powerful organization Khap Panchayats have announced to support the farmers. In the Khap Panchayat organized at Jat Dharamshala in Hisar, it was decided that all the Khaps will participate enthusiastically in the nationwide tractor march to be held on 26 January.
In the meeting, the prominent representatives of Maham Choubisi, Dahiya, Saat Bas, Khatkhar, Satrol, Phogat, Hooda and Kadyan Khaps warned that if the demands of the farmers are not met by February 14, then a big nationwide movement will be organized.
Khap leaders urged the central government to take concrete action beyond correspondence and meetings. Khap Committee Coordinator Satish Chairman has demanded the Haryana government to cancel the draft of the new agricultural policy like Punjab. He also informed that farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, currently on an indefinite fast at the Khanauri border, has agreed to receive medical assistance in respect of the Supreme Court.
Apart from this, an important issue related to Haryana was also mentioned in the Khap Panchayat. In which the farmers have demanded the withdrawal of the cases registered against the farmers during the farmer protest in Haryana's Kheri Chopta. Khap leaders said that the government had promised to withdraw the cases. Despite this, notices are coming to the farmers. They have demanded the immediate withdrawal of these cases. Further strategy will be decided in the national meeting of the United Kisan Morcha on January 24.
