A Heartfelt Connection: Unfulfilled Wish of Manu Bhaker's Grandmother

Manu Bhaker shared a deep bond with her maternal grandmother, Savitri Devi, whose wish to feed her churma remained unfulfilled. Tragically, on January 19, both Savitri and Manu's maternal uncle, Yudhveer, lost their lives in a road accident in Haryana. CCTV footage revealed that an over-speeding vehicle collided with their scooty, resulting in a fatal impact.

After the incident, the bodies were returned to Kalali village, where Manu was seen supporting her mother and family during this difficult time. The family held the cremation ceremony in the village.

Savitri Devi had always been proud of Manu

Savitri Devi had always been proud of Manu’s achievements in sports, celebrating her successes more than anyone else. She had promised to prepare churma for Manu when she received the prestigious Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna award, a promise that now remains unfulfilled.

Yudhveer worked as a driver for Haryana Roadways

Yudhveer, who worked as a driver for Haryana Roadways, was on his way to work on the day of the accident, with his mother accompanying him to visit a relative. Unfortunately, both lost their lives near Mahendragarh Chowk.

Manu Bhaker made history by winning two medals at the Paris Olympics, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve this feat. She was also honored with the Major Dhyan Chand Sports Award by the President in Delhi on January 17.
