Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, is set to address a rally in Seelampur on January 13 as part of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections-2025. TThe Congress party made this announcement on Saturday. During a press conference at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee office, Qazi Nizamuddin, the All India Congress Committee Delhi in-charge, said that Rahul Gandhi has become a prominent voice for the people across the nation.
Nizamuddin said that wherever there is an issue, Gandhi reaches there and raises the voice of the people. He said that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting named 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' in Seelampur area of north-east Delhi on Monday at 5:30 pm. A large number of people, Congress party workers and leaders will participate in it.
This will be Gandhi's first rally in this assembly election in Delhi. Nizamuddin said the Congress is in a strong position in Delhi after Gandhi's continuous contact with people from all sections in the national capital and the highly successful month-long 'Delhi Nyay Yatra' of state Congress chief Devendra Yadav. Nizamuddin said lakhs of Delhi residents participated in the yatra and pledged their support to the Congress in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Nizamuddin said that during the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Kanyakumari to Srinagar, Gandhi had interacted with people from all sections, which gave him a deep insight into the struggles, sufferings and troubles of the daily life of the common people. The Congress had taken out the 'Delhi Nyay Yatra' in November to connect with the voters and boost the morale of the party workers ahead of the assembly elections.
The yatra was organised on the lines of Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' and 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' and ended on December 7. Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5. Counting of votes will be held on February 8. Congress did not win a single seat in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections.
