Bowler Sushila Meena, who came into the limelight due to the viral social media post of former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was felicitated by Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) in Jaipur on Sunday.
While felicitating Sushila Meena, the state's Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh hailed Sushila's fast bowling.
Sushila Meena also bowled out Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh. Its video is being shared on social media.
Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has also announced the adoption of Sushila Meena in this felicitation programme.
Arrangements made for Sushila Meena's cricket training
RCA convener and Ganganagar MLA Jaideep Bihani told media, "We have made arrangements for Sushila Meena's cricket training, education and accommodation in Jaipur. RCA will bear all the expenses."
He said, "We have received information that Sushila has been admitted to a school in Udaipur. Wherever Sushila wants to stay in Jaipur or Udaipur, RCA will bear all the expenses. But, we want Sushila to stay in Jaipur and train and get education."
A video of Sushila Meena, a resident of Ramer Talab, a small tribal village in Rajasthan, went viral on social media. In this video, she is doing fast bowling. This video was shared by former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on social media platform X.
With this video, Sachin Tendulkar wrote that Sushila Meena's bowling action shows a "glimpse" of former Indian cricketer and fast bowler Zaheer Khan. Following praise from Sachin Tendulkar, 12-year-old Sushila became a topic of much discussion.
Sushila has been playing cricket since the age of 9
Sushila told that she has been playing cricket since the age of 9. She told that she is currently studying in the fifth grade. Seeing the school children playing cricket, she also got the desire to play cricket. Since then, she has been playing cricket for three years. Now when people praise her game, she feels good. Now her goal is to play in the Indian cricket team.
