Atishi among 13 AAP MLAs suspended; CAG report on liquor policy is set to be presented in Delhi Assembly

On the second day of the Delhi Assembly, 13 AAP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, were suspended for the entire day. These leaders raised slogans of "Modi-Modi" during the speech of Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena, leading to their removal by marshals from the House.

Outside the House, Atishi questioned the removal of photos of Bhagat Singh and Ambedkar from the Chief Minister's residence, asking, "Is PM Modi bigger than Baba Saheb Ambedkar?"

The CAG report on the liquor policy is set to be presented in the Assembly. This report indicates that Delhi has incurred a loss of Rs 2,026 crore due to the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) liquor policy.

In his address, LG Saxena emphasized the government's commitment to corruption-free governance, women empowerment, a cleaner Delhi, rejuvenation of the Yamuna, and access to clean drinking water. He stated, "My government will adopt the 'Developed Delhi Sankalp Patra' as a document for policy guidance and will fulfill all the promises made to the people."

Virendra Sachdeva targets the AAP

The CAG report will be presented in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday. Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Virendra Sachdeva has targeted the AAP ahead of the report's release, stating, "The opposition should now be ready for the fact that they have to answer for their black deeds."

Sachdeva further remarked, "The CAG report is a bundle of corruption of the Aam Aadmi Party, and when it is presented, the information will come out."

He responded to Atishi's allegations regarding the removal of the pictures of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the CM Office, claiming, "Atishi lies, and this is in her character. Baba Saheb's Constitution, which protects the entire country, has been insulted by Atishi and Arvind Kejriwal themselves." He asserted that the photos of Baba Saheb and Bhagat Singh remain displayed.

Former Delhi CM Atishi had accused the BJP of removing the portraits of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the Chief Minister's Office in Delhi.
