Controversy Erupts Over Swara Bhaskar's Comments on 'Chhava' and Historical Depictions, What Social Media Users Said?

Vicky Kaushal's film Chhava has recently been released, featuring a scene depicting the torture of Sambhaji Maharaj by the Mughals, which has elicited strong emotional responses from audiences. In light of the public's reaction, actress Swara Bhaskar criticized society for prioritizing the film's portrayal of historical events over pressing contemporary issues like the rise in stampede incidents across the country.

On her official X account (formerly Twitter), Swara Bhaskar remarked that a society more outraged by the fictional depiction of Hindu suffering from 500 years ago than by current tragedies such as stampedes and the mishandling of bodies after tragic deaths is "dead in mind and soul."

Her comments sparked backlash on social media. One user responded, accusing her of being upset over a film that addresses the real historical actions of the Mughals rather than fictional love stories like those portrayed in Taj Mahal and Mughal-e-Azam.

Another commenter expressed anger, suggesting that Bhaskar disrespects the dignity of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and denies the historical atrocities committed by Aurangzeb, despite living in Maharashtra.

Another user wrote, really? This lady has married in such a religion. To express anger over the imaginary tortures given to an Imam 1400 years ago, every year lakhs of people come out on the streets and mourn and play bloody games with swords and chains. This affects the entire traffic system and business.
