When the second day of the Delhi vs Railways Ranji Trophy match began on Friday, the Delhi crowd was waiting for a Delhi wicket to fall so that they could see their favourite cricketer Virat Kohli batting.
However, their wait was prolonged by at least an hour by Delhi batsmen Sanat Sangwan and Yash Dhull. During the 67-run partnership between the two, the crowd kept getting impatient and kept demanding a wicket from the Railways bowlers.
When their wait finally ended, their happiness did not last long because after spending just 23 minutes at the crease and playing 15 balls, Kohli was in the pavilion with a personal score of just six runs.
This was a disappointing end to Kohli's comeback in the Ranji Trophy after 12 years and the stadium that was echoing with the slogans of 'Kohli, Kohli...RCB, RCB' a while ago had now become completely silent.
Former captain of the Indian cricket team and Delhi batsman Virat Kohli was out after scoring only 6 runs.
Himanshu Sangwan of the Railways team, who clean bowled Virat Kohli, said, "This was a special moment for me. Taking his wicket is like a dream come true for me."
He said, "With the arrival of Virat Bhaiya, Ranji is getting so much importance, it feels very good. It is a big thing to share the dressing room with him."
After Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli also flopped while batting for the Delhi team on Friday.
