Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary attended the Iftar program organized by Union Minister Chirag Paswan in Patna. Some Muslim organizations had opposed and boycotted his Iftar program.
Talking to journalists about this boycott, he said, "Those who have issued a fatwa to boycott are very dear to me. I respect them a lot. He (Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani) has had old relations with my family. I have a lot of respect for him. I am much younger than him, so I will not comment on him."
Chirag said further, "I too have a complaint. You are expressing anger against me. My father dissolved his entire party, declaring that Bihar should have a Muslim Chief Minister. But you are protecting those people who have done nothing except using Muslims as their vote bank."
Earlier, a prominent Muslim organization in Bihar had also opposed the Iftar party organized by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
