Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is once again seen surrounded by controversies. This time, during a sports event at Patna's Patliputra Sports Complex, the national anthem was being played, at that time Nitish Kumar was caught on camera laughing and talking. After the video of this incident went viral, the opposition has accused him of insulting the national anthem.
What did Tejashwi Yadav say?
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, while directly attacking Nitish Kumar, wrote on Instagram that 'Hon'ble Chief Minister, at least please do not insult the national anthem. You insult the youth, students, women and the elderly every day. Sometimes you make fun of Mahatma Gandhi's martyrdom by clapping on his martyrdom day, and sometimes you clap on the national anthem!'
Tejashwi further wrote that 'You are not mentally and physically stable. You cannot remain in control even for a few seconds. Do not insult Bihar again and again.'
Was seen talking to PS
Actually, Nitish Kumar was standing on the stage with his Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar. He was seen laughing and talking while the national anthem was being played. He also once greeted the audience with folded hands. IAS officer Deepak Kumar was seen pulling his sleeve. It seemed as if he was signaling Nitish to keep quiet. As soon as this video went viral, the opposition started criticizing Nitish Kumar sharply.
Nitish has been in controversies before
This is not the first time that Nitish Kumar has been embroiled in controversies in an event related to national honor. Earlier on January 30, 2024, he was caught clapping after paying floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. Now his behavior during the national anthem has created a new political uproar.
