Govt has hiked the price of milk thrice
Karnataka BJP president and MLA BY Vijayendra said that after the Congress government came to power, this is the third time that Siddaramaiah's government has increased the price of milk. Vijayendra accused the Congress government of guaranteeing a price hike, saying water charges, petrol prices and milk prices have all been increased. He sarcastically called the milk price hike a Ugadi gift from the Congress government to the people.
Public agitation against Congress policies
Vijayendra said the BJP will launch a public agitation to raise awareness and fight against the policies of the Congress government. The Karnataka government on Thursday announced a hike of Rs 4 per liter in the price of Nandini milk and curd, which will be effective from April 1.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The state government said the move is aimed at supporting dairy farmers in view of the rising cost of milk production and processing.
