Trump made this remark after the Ukraine peace talks held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to a ceasefire.
The US delegation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia was led by Senator Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. They met the delegation from Ukraine, which was led by Presidential Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha and Defense Minister Rustam Umarov.
During the meeting, Ukraine announced its support for the Trump administration's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. The decision comes after a public rift between the US and Ukrainian presidents at the White House, which stalled the talks.
Efforts will be made to persuade Russia: Trump
