Speculation Surrounds Retirement by Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Following ICC Champions Trophy-2025

Ravindra Jadeja's possible retirement from ODI cricket has become a topic of discussion as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 could mark the end of an era for the Indian white-ball team. Reports suggest that several legendary cricketers, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jadeja himself, may announce their retirement from ODI cricket after this tournament.

The speculation about Jadeja's retirement intensified when Kohli was seen embracing him after he completed his 10-over spell in the final. This moment led fans to wonder if it was Jadeja's last appearance in ODI cricket. However, as of now, Jadeja has not made any official statements regarding his retirement.

In the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy against New Zealand, Jadeja took one wicket, dismissing Tom Latham. Since making his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in Colombo in 2009, he has played 203 matches in this format, claiming 230 wickets and scoring 8,150 runs.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli, who made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in Dambulla in 2008, is currently the third-highest run-scorer in ODI history, with 14,180 runs. He trails only Kumar Sangakkara (14,234 runs) and Sachin Tendulkar (18,426 runs), with 8,063 of his runs coming while chasing targets in the second innings.

Despite the swirling rumors, Indian team vice-captain Shubman Gill dismissed the speculation regarding Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's retirement during a pre-match conference before the final match.
