Tesu Flower Holi: Holi festival is just a few days away, and currently, Rangotsav is being celebrated in Braj. In Mathura and many other places, Holi is played with colors made from Tesu flowers instead of chemical dyes. The celebration of Holi varies throughout Braj, but using Tesu flower colors is considered safe due to their natural and religious significance.


Tesu flower colors are natural and harmless. When applied to the skin, they do not cause any harm, making them a healthy choice for celebrating Holi. The color derived from Palash flowers is a vibrant mix of deep red and orange, often appearing much brighter and more beautiful than traditional gulal or chemical colors.


Historically, chemical colors were not available, so people created colors using natural flowers. The naturally occurring color from Tesu flowers was primarily prepared from elements found in nature, and it continues to be used in celebrations today.


Tesu flowers are often offered to Lord Shiva


In Hinduism, the Tesu flower holds significance as it is often offered to Lord Shiva. These flowers are commonly presented in Shiva temples and are considered auspicious by devotees during worship. On the day of Holi, the color of the Tesu flower symbolizes the victory of good over evil and prosperity. In addition to Tesu flowers, colors are also made from various other flowers, enriching the festival's vibrant palette.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
