Centre announces caste based census ahead of Bihar elections-2025, what Nitish Kumar said?

Before the Bihar assembly elections-2025, the central government has decided to conduct caste census in the country. The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved it. It is believed that it can start from September 2025 itself, although the figures will come after a year.

The approval of the caste-based census proposal by the central government is being viewed as a major political move ahead of the Bihar elections-2025. It is now being claimed that the central government has taken this step under pressure and at the demand of opposition parties such as the Congress and RJD, thereby potentially diminishing the main election issue for those parties.

The census will assess the population of different castes. Better policies can now be made in the field of social justice. It is certain that BJP will now use it as a weapon in the Bihar assembly elections. It is likely to blunt the political edge of the opposition.

Nitish praised the decision of caste census

At the same time, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has praised this decision. Nitish Kumar has written on the social media platform that the decision of the NDA government at the Center to conduct caste census is a very welcome decision. It has been our old demand to conduct caste census which is now being fulfilled. 

CM Nitish said that it is a matter of great happiness. Conducting caste census will reveal the number of people of different caste categories. This will facilitate in making government schemes for their upliftment and development. This will also speed up the development of the country. Bihar CM said that he congratulates Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanks him for the decision to conduct caste census.

A decision in the interest of the country: Chirag 

On this decision, Union Minister Chirag Paswan said that this important decision has been taken in the interest of the country. The decision has been taken for inclusive development. 

On the other hand, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav said that those who call us casteist have got a befitting reply.

While Tejashwi Yadav said that this decision is a victory for RJD. The government had to agree with RJD. Congress leader Udit Raj has called it a victory for Congress.
