Maa Pitambara temple complex in MP’s Datia will be developed as a major religious tourist destination; Cente sanctions funds under Prasad Yojana: CM Mohan Yadav


Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav has said that Maa Pitambara's city Datia will be made well-equipped to become the major religious tourist destination of the state. Under the Prasad Yojana of the Central Government, an amount of Rs 44.24 crore has been approved for the development of the temple complex and the area connected to it. This scheme will rejuvenate the religious places and strengthen the local economy. The aim of the Prasad Yojana is to make the major religious places of India clean, well-organized and convenient for tourists.


Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture and Managing Director MP Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that the expansion of tourism services and better facilities at Pitambara Peeth will lead to a rise in the number of tourists. 


These works will be undertaken


Open spaces will be developed: Specially open spaces will be developed to provide fresh air, open environment and comfort to the visitors and senior citizens coming on foot on the approximately 2 KM route from the highway towards the temple. These areas will have greenery, benches, trees and plants and places to rest. This will make the tourists feel refreshed.


Basic facilities for the citizens and tourists: Necessary basic facilities will be provided for the citizens and tourists of the city. These will include clean drinking water, toilets, seating arrangements, lighting, garbage management and other public services. This will make the city more convenient and accessible.


Interpretation center will be built: An interpretation center will be built for the convenience of devotees coming to visit the temples from the North Gate, where information about the religious and historical importance of the temple will be given. There will also be an office of the temple trust and a crowd control room on the first floor.


Rotary will be designed: Rotary will be designed at Bam-Bam Bhole and Hanuman Chowk to make traffic management smooth and safe for vehicles/passengers coming from Gwalior and Jhansi.


Multi-level car parking will be constructed: Keeping in mind the increasing traffic problem, multi-level car parking will be constructed near the temple. In future, the multi-level parking will be directly connected to the temple path-way.


Footpaths will be redeveloped to ensure safety and ease of pedestrians.


Smart displays and indicators will be installed to provide information about important places, tourist spots, temples and public facilities in the city.
