Mother Dairy hikes milk price in Delhi, check new rates

Mother Dairy, a seller of milk and dairy products in Delhi-NCR, has increased the price of milk by up to Rs 2 per liter, citing increased procurement cost. A company official said on Tuesday that the price revision will be effective across the market from April 30, 2025.

A Mother Dairy official said, "Price revision has become necessary to deal with the significant increase in procurement cost. The cost has increased by four to five rupees per liter in the last few months." The official said that the jump in procurement prices is mainly due to the onset of summer as well as heat wave conditions.

New rates

After the hike, the prices of toned milk (bulk vended) has been increased to Rs 56 per litre from Rs 54 per litre in Delhi-NCR.

Full cream milk (pouched) will cost Rs 69 per litre as against Rs 68 per litre.

The prices of cow milk has been increased to Rs 59 per litre from Rs 57 per litre

Mother Dairy sells about 35 lakh liters of milk daily in the Delhi-NCR market through its stores, other shops and e-commerce platforms. Company official said, "We are committed to ensuring the continued availability of quality milk to consumers while supporting the livelihood of our milk producing farmers." The official said that this price revision reflects only the partial impact of the increased cost, which aims to take care of the interests of both farmers and consumers.

Prices also increased in Karnataka

In the southern state of India, the Siddaramaiah government on Thursday decided to increase the prices of cooperative milk i.e. Nandini milk supplied by the Karnataka Milk Federation by 4 percent per liter. This decision has been taken after considering the demands of KMF and farmers' organizations. This decision to increase the price of milk has been taken just before the Ugadi festival of South India, which the whole of Karnataka is going to celebrate with great pomp on April 30. Now the prices of milk will increase, so there will be an increase in the prices of tea, coffee and other milk products in hotels and sweet shops.
