MP: Kuno to Become a Model Wildlife Tourism Destination with Enhanced Connectivity and New Amenities


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that a paved all-weather road will be built from Gwalior to Kuno National Park. By setting up a tent city in Kuno, tourists coming here will be provided a golden opportunity to spend time in the lap of nature. 


CM said that as per the wishes of Union Forest Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav, we will also open an international level veterinary hospital and rescue center in Kuno area. For this, we will also take help from the central government. The operation of the veterinary hospital will help in the treatment of cheetahs of Kuno as well as the treatment of cattle in this entire area.


CM said that the state government will explore the immense possibilities inherent in the nature tourism sector of the state. More and more youth and women of the state will be connected to wildlife tourism. Cheetah Mitras and women of women self-help groups will also be made tourist guides. Didi Cafes will be operated from the State Livelihood Development Mission in Kuno area, so that more and more local employment opportunities can be provided to cheetah friends and women.


King cobra and rare species of turtles will also be conserved


The government will also conserve king cobra and rare species of turtles. CM Mohan Yadav said that the wait of a century has ended with the rehabilitation of cheetahs on the land of the state. The state government is also making efforts to conserve king cobra, gharial and rare species of turtles. 


CM said that the government is working in a planned manner for the conservation of king cobra. It is necessary to settle king cobra to control the number of poisonous snakes in the forests of the state. In the first phase, it is being considered to bring 10 king cobras to Madhya Pradesh. CM Yadav directed the forest officials to rehabilitate gharials and turtles from Chambal river in 4 major rivers and reservoirs of the state.
