Pahalgam terror attack: Asaduddin Owaisi appeals to PM Modi before all-party meeting

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi has claimed that parties with less than 5 or 10 MPs are not being invited to the all-party meeting convened by PM Modi regarding Pahalgam terror attack.

However, no formal information has been given by the government about the all-party meeting yet.

Owaisi wrote on the social media platform X, "Last night I spoke to Kiren Rijiju about the all-party meeting on Pahalgam. He said that they are thinking of inviting only parties with '5 or 10 MPs'."

Owaisi said, “When I asked why not parties with fewer MPs, he said the meeting would take ‘too long’. When I asked ‘what about us, the smaller parties?’ he joked that my voice is too loud anyway.”

Asaduddin Owaisi said, “This is not an internal meeting of the BJP or any other party, it is an all-party meeting to send a strong and united message against terrorism and countries that harbour terrorists. PM Modi, will you spend an extra hour to listen to the concerns of all parties?”

Owaisi said, “Your own party does not have a majority. Whether it is a party with 1 MP or 100 MPs, they are both elected by Indians and they should be heard on such an important matter. This is not a political issue, it is a national issue.”

Earlier, Owaisi expressed shock and termed the attack as ‘highly condemnable’ and called for the ‘strictest punishment’ under the law for those responsible.

“We stand with the victims of the attack and their families,” Owaisi said. He offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the swift and complete recovery of the injured.
