A landmark shift is set to occur in the world of air mobility in India. An aerospace startup named Sarla Aviation has announced that it will introduce the country's first electric flying taxi, 'Shunya,' to the market by the year 2028. This state-of-the-art service will initially launch in Bengaluru and will subsequently expand to major metropolitan areas such as Delhi, Mumbai, Noida, and Pune.
Pay fare equal to Ola-Uber to travel in the air
Sarla Aviation CEO Adrian Schmidt said that the flying taxi service has been targeted to be expanded across India in the next 5 years. The special thing is that the price of one of its trips will be equal to the premium cabs of Ola and Uber. That is, now even common citizens will be able to experience flying in the air and reaching their destination.
Can fly at a speed of 250 km/h
Shunya has been developed on a fully electric platform. It can fly at a speed of 250 km/h on a single charge and can cover a distance of up to 160 km. However, it is primarily designed for urban travel of 25 to 30 km, providing people with relief from traffic jams.
6 passengers and 1 driver can travel together in it and its loading capacity is 680 kg. Its prototype has been prepared right now, but many modern technologies will be incorporated in the final version.
Will also play an important role in emergency services
'Shunya' is not only being prepared for passenger transport, but it is also being prepared for emergency medical services. The company's goal is to save critical patients from traffic and take them to the hospital on time. Under this, free air ambulance service will also be started.
This initiative is going to give India new heights on the global stage in the field of green transport and aerospace technology. In the coming times, when people will travel between office and home from the sky instead of the ground, then 'Shunya' will prove to be the first flight of this change.
